Green Party General Election – Candidate for Tewkesbury
The long awaited date has been set for the General Election. The Green Party is confident of winning more seats in Parliament and is ready to represent the Tewkesbury seat, where we have an excellent, local, experienced and committed candidate, says Tewkesbury’s election agent Chris White.
Green Party parliamentary candidate for Tewkesbury, Cate Cody, said: “There have been strong Green gains across Gloucestershire in recent years and I’m campaigning to be the Parliamentary voice of the people of Tewkesbury”.
Cate has an excellent record of winning elections (2019 as Tewkesbury Borough’s first Green, re-elected in 2023 with a 300% increase with fellow Green Councillors and also elected in 2023 as Tewkesbury’s Green County Councillor).
Cate’s priorities are:
Better insulated homes for all, working towards cleaner, non fossil fuel energy and affordable bills
A restored NHS where people can get hospital, doctor and dental appointments and the care they need
Natural spaces and preservation of nature for everyone to enjoy
Affordable homes in the right places
Flood alleviation and urgent action for our heavily polluted waterways
Hope for younger people, including meaningful, fairly paid jobs and a decent future.
“As Tewkesbury’s Green Party General Election candidate and potential MP, I will extend my passion, continuing to make this parliamentary constituency a better place for everyone. The next government will need to be held to account, and we will need Green presence for this”.
One of Tewkesbury East’s Borough Councillor and deputy leader Hilarie Bowman, said “I’m so pleased that Cate is our Green parliamentary candidate for Tewkesbury, she works incredibly hard and as an elected Borough and County Councillor, has already shown how much difference Greens can make.”
